(More customer reviews)This is not one of my proudest moments, but I ordered this stool without looking at the dimensions. I don't know what possessed me to do that, but I think it was that the picture makes it look fairly tall and, coupled with the fact that the stool is adjustable, I somehow became convinced that, at it's tallest, the stool would be around the height of a typical bar stool. This is just a quick review to let you know that that is not the case.
The stool is (as described) a fairly short stool. At it's highest, it is a little taller than a normal chair, but only by an inch or two. All that said, it can be assembled in less than 10 minutes without any tools, is very sturdy, and is surprisingly comfortable - a factor both of the contour of the seat and the fact that the gas cylinder gives the seat a little bounce. My impression was that it would be a great idea for someone looking for a reasonably priced drum set stool, or perhaps less so, a good option for working in the driveway on your car. The real moral of the story, though, is to note the stated seat height (17" - 23 1/4"). If that will work for you, then this is a very good option.
