(More customer reviews)First of all, this product is more for the older teenager to budding art college student. There was a compareable product by the same company, minus the side holders, drawers, and decreased table space on the sides. That one is good if you're a parent buying something for your kid who has an interest in art. This table is for the teenage to college artist that has pencils, pens, inks, markers, etc etc, and needs a place to stow them.
This comes with a total of 8 plastic drawers, and two side holders for pencils and whatever you need right at the get-go. The tilt mechanism operates on a ratchet style mechanic, so fully extending the table top to full tilt is required to flatten it out. (Stow those open inks can cap your pens first!)
The design of the desk is serviceable. For it's price, it's not bad. The height adjustment feature is in removable pins in the legs. These pins support the weight of the table, so adjust it once, and only once during assembly. Further adjustment requires that you get the table off of its feet first. A pain in itself. Since these pins aren't meant to be permanantly set (though they may as well be), they tend to wobble the table a little bit.
The matterials are cheap, but again, serviceable. The assembly process took me about 4 hours with the included tools (but you do NEED YOUR OWN SCREWDRIVER), by myself. If you're a tiny person, you may need two people at times.
The desk, overall, is alright. I like it. It's worth its price. There are better, but it is stable enough to last a students' college career, or act as a thrifty table for a hobbiest. If I had more money to throw around, I'd buy one made of better matterials, and better mechanical design. As it is, it's a thrifty desk worth it's value.
Note about the suggested chair; The table has adjustable height. If you lower it a little, you can sit at the table with a standard computer chair. The art chair suggested on Amazon is elevated for most art tables, which tend to be elevated in themselves.
