At $95.51 with free shipping, the chair appeared to be a bargain. It shipped fast and no assembly was required.
There are seven knobs for adjustment but no cheat sheet to suggest how to achieve maximum comfort. Some of the knobs have diagrams on them, some are unidentified and require some trial and error. For me, only one knob is accessible while seated. Someone with longer arms may be able to reach three of the seven knobs. However, even an acrobat could probably not reach all while seated.
I placed the order late at night and sent a message to the seller to check back with me about the color before shipping. He did not do this but I have posted an image to help others figure out why the stock photo is maroon and the description is Blue Stone. The overall impression is towards purple, not burgundy or blue. It's not a razzle dazzle purple, but it will clash with some colors.
The chair does off gas significantly despite a statement on the manufacturer's web site reading:
"Indoor Advantage subjects products to specific air quality emission requirements."
If you are sensitive to odor, you are going to have to isolate this chair for at least a week, probably a bit more.
The padding is firm, well, hard. The casters are good and the chair rolls very smoothly.
Initially, I gave the chair a four because while it appeared to be an excellent chair for the price, it leaves room for improvement. Now, however, after some use, I have lowered my four to a three. The off gassing became tolerable about three weeks after the chair arrived, but I struggled with using the chair for short spells despite the odor. The seat is already wrinkled. My guess is that as the weight of the body gravitates forward, the fabric binds and wrinkles, but this isn't even my biggest issue at this time. The real issue is that not only are the adjustments very difficult to make, but the chair is so hard that it cuts off circulation to the legs. It feels more like a bench than a chair.
At the current price, I would suggest spending more time making the right decision.
