(More customer reviews)For three years now, my Bookchair has sat faithfully on my kitchen counter, bearing all manner of books and magazines from erudite to dreck without complaint or unwanted commentary. As I'm a constant reader, it's a constant companion, and it's the only one I've found that's "stood up" to the task -- all the other book stands I've tried are flimsy and basically useless. The Bookchair also makes page turns easy, even on books that aren't exactly page-turners. I just gave one to a similarly literarily-afflicted friend for Christmas, and although her initial response was a singularly non-literary "huh?" she's a believer now, too.
The only drawback is it isn't deep enough to hold GIANT books like Stephen King's or John Irving's latest (maybe the "Large" model can?), but I suspect it could even support --GASP! -- a Kindle just fine. :-)

The original Bookchair, handfinished out of rubber wood, with cotton cloth backing alleviates neck and back problems when reading. Adjusts to three different angles. The unobtrusive pegs, which extend outwards for extra thick books hold the pages in place. Useful for any leisure reading, cookbooks, studies, computer work, craftwork, travelling etc.
