(More customer reviews)I needed to get a desk for drawing and computer (laptop) work in a small space for a few months. This is the only somewhat ergonomic choice below $300.
Positives:
- Has no "keyboard shelf" like all other cheap desks do. The only thing those are good for is causing RSI by putting an extra 3-4 inches between your lap and the desk top.
- Simple and muted look doesn't clash with other furniture.
- Really pretty cheap, and arrived fairly quickly.
Negatives:
- Extremely poor quality control. The bracket connecting one of the legs to the horizontal bar was bent so assembling was difficult. The parts didn't fit together all the way so there's a gap between the desk top and leg assembly. One of the bolt holes in the desk top had its threads almost completely stripped so it's only held by about one rotation of the bolt. This will eventually break because the bolt is under tension due to the bad fit above.
- The air trapped inside the plastic bag the desk top was in caused my studio to reek like cigarette smoke. I've never experienced anything like this before. Whoever packed it must've been chain smoking on the job.
